10am – 3pm A fun and creative day out for family and friends
On Saturday 17th July, every square inch of New Brewery Arts and the surrounding courtyards will be transformed into a whirl of activity. We are inviting visitors of all ages to come along, take possession of your local arts centre and get making!
JOIN IN A wealth of top community artists will be on hand to encourage everyone to get truly creative: to join in the growing sculpture in the theatre, mechanically transform newspaper into wonderful objects, make automata to take home, throw a pot in the ceramics studio or transform your wheels into works of art (skateboards, bikes, pushchairs, and wheel chairs welcome!) – see if you can win a prize!
ENTERTAINMENT Street theatre, puppet shows, dance, skateboarding displays and a fabulous array of music from local bands and groups will entertain throughout the day.
ART Pop into the Gallery for inspiration from the amazing automata in The Mechanical World of Robert Race Exhibition. Marvel at his famous travelling seaside machine, learn from the artist and join in the treasure trail. Explore the buildings to discover the resident craftworkers MAKING –glass, cloth, giant sofas, books, fashion, rings, chandeliers, wall hangings, windows and more. Pop out and visit local artists in their OPEN STUDIOS
FOOD AND DRINK Delicious refreshments from our café, milk bar and barbeque will be on hand for those needing a break from the creative whirl. Take a breather and enjoy!
